Katy Perry Cancels Scheduled People’s Choice Awards Appearance
Katy Perry has announced that she has cancelled her scheduled appearance at the People's Choice Awards this Wednesday (Jan. 11). This announcement comes just days after she publicly revealed her split from Russell Brand.
The 27-year-old tweeted on Monday (Jan. 9), "Unfortunately I will not be able to attend the People's Choice Awards. I want to thank u all for voting for me, fingers crossed! #KATYCATS."
Perry is nominated for a total of seven awards including Favorite Female Artist, Favorite Pop Artist, and Song of the Year for "E.T."
The pop singer has shown lots of gratitude towards her fans tweeting, only a week after Brand filed for divorce, "I am so grateful for all the love and support I've had from people around the world. You guys have made my heart happy again."
According to Perry's official website, she has not cancelled any stops on her California Dreams Tour which includes a show in Indonesia and in the Philippines.
