Justin Bieber Helps Hometown Skate Park With Autographed Car
Justin Bieber is helping to clean up and update a local skate park in his hometown of Stratford, Canada with only the quick flick of his wrist.
Over the holiday break, Bieber visited a local Hyundai car dealership where he autographed a bright red 2012 Genesis Coupe 2.0 Turbo.
The owner of the Stratford Hyundai, Frank Sardola, said "It started when I sold his grandmother a car about six months back. I came up with the idea about how I could do something for the city, including Justin too, to help drive it."
The car will be listed for auction on eBay for 10 days starting Jan. 20.
Sandola has donated the $35,000 car to go towards Bieber's choice of cause. Bieber chose for the auction's proceeds to go towards cleaning and updating a local skate park where a lot of Stratford's youth hangs out.
Sandola had to be very cautious when the time came for Bieber to come to the dealership. He said, "There were only seven people here. I had to keep it quiet. This was very secretive. I had to paper the windows, because of the paparazzi. If they would have caught wind of what he was doing, this would have hit the media even before we went live." He added, “He spent about a half-hour in here, took his pictures and signed the car. I have to say, he was a very nice kid."
I wonder if the person who ends up purchasing the car will still enjoy Bieber's pretty autograph say, ten years down the road. I guess that would be the equivalent of a Hanson autograph today. Anyone remember the oh-so-catchy song "MMMBop"?
